Clarissa Leonard
MPT, C/NDT, Physical Therapy Clinical Excellence Leader
A graduate of University of Texas Medical Branch, Imprints Program, Clarissa is Neuro-Developmental Treatment Certified and is working toward becoming a PT Instructor for NDTA. With her vast advanced continuing education and experience, she serves not only as our PT Director, but also coordinates and monitors our clinical mentoring program for all professional staff. Her favorite type of patients are those with Cerebral Palsy, neuromotor issues and infants. Clarissa utilizes an eclectic approach to her treatment planning to make the most efficient functional gains in the kids with which she works. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her four children, and coaching Jui Jitsu for children and adults.
Melanie Watson
MPT, PCS, Clinical Director
Melanie, a certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment and is a Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy. She has been an important part of our team since graduating from Texas Tech University. Melanie’s areas of clinical expertise include the treatment of children with neurological disorders, delayed gross motor skills, infant treatment, and manual therapy, for which she has received extensive training. She serves as our Clinical Director for all therapy departments – monitoring compliance, quality of care, patient matching to appropriate team members, therapy space utilization and team cohesion. In her downtime, she enjoys traveling, cooking, playing guitar, painting, and hosting game nights with friends
Sandra Rodriquez
PTA
Sandra’s bright smile can be seen throughout each day as she playfully and intensely interacts with her patients. As a PTA and a graduate of South Texas College, she has extensive training in the treatment of kids with neuro-motor/developmental issues and completed the NDT certificate course for Assistants. Her approach to treatment is thoughtful and functional as she strives to make positive gains with her patients. In her down time, she enjoys crafting, exercising, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Cynthia Luna
PTA, NDT/T
A graduate of Wharton Community College, Cynthia was trained in Neuro-Developmental Treatment as a PTA, and also has been educated in Kinesotape, and NDT Aquatics. Although quiet in nature, she is devoted to quality, clinically-sound therapy that make remarkable gains in the kids she treats. She is diligent in both application and integration of activities for carryover into her patients’ daily lives. She enjoys spending time with her kids, running, and reading in her down time.
Nicole Lyssy
PTA
As part of our team of outstanding PTA’s, Nicole’s years of experience and advanced education at Milestones has brought her level of care to the pinnacle. She is often seen developing exciting activities while maintaining trusting relationships with her patients. A graduate of Blinn College, Nicole is trained in Neuro-Developmental Treatment and Aquatic Therapy. When not at work, she enjoys swimming, dancing, and spending time with her kids.
Rebecca C. Perez
PT, DPT, PCS
A graduate of University of North Texas Health Science Center, Rebecca has achieved clinical excellence by becoming Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy. With experience in treating both children and adults, her intense clinical problem-solving and unique application of treatment techniques foster growth in all patients. She enjoys spending time with family, playing/watching basketball, planning birthday parties, and crafting when not working.
Amanda Martinez
PT, DPT
As a PT clinical intern at Milestones, Amanda’s innate therapy skills were recognized, and we were delighted she decided to join our team. A graduate of Texas Women’s University, she is developing strong clinical skills to implement with her variety of patients. Amanda enjoys spending time with family and friends and hanging out with her cats.
Grecia Serrato
PTA
A long-time member of our wonderful PTA team, Grecia brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her treatment sessions. Trained in a variety of techniques to impact children of all abilities, she focuses on interaction with the family as a crucial part of team – often giving home carry-over activities. A graduate of South Texas College, Grecia is trained in many techniques related to neuro-developmental treatment. In her down time, she enjoys working out, running, and participating in triathlons.
Todd Acevedo
PTA
Todd loves working with all types of patients and strives to bring out each child’s unique personality. A graduate of South Texas College, Todd is certified in aquatic therapy and has also been trained in many neuro-muscular treatment techniques to impact movement, posture and coordination. When not working, Todd enjoys being a dad, playing games with his son, and barbecuing.
Victoria Guerra
PT, DPT
A graduate of University of Incarnate Word, Victoria flourishes when working with children with neuro-motor issues, particularly those with Cerebral Palsy. Trained in many treatment techniques, she utilizes a thorough clinical analysis to plan the most effective therapy sessions. Her playful personality encourages kids to participate in the intervention strategies she incorporates into their sessions. Victoria enjoys going to the ranch and spending time outside with her family.
Iris Duran
PTA
A graduate of South Texas Community College, Iris is trained in neuro-developmental treatment. Although she is at Milestones only a few hours each week, she has always developed strong relationships with her patients and families to encourage good carry-over in the home. In her free time, she enjoys salsa dancing, traveling, and spending time with her husband and friends.
Sayda Ruelas
PT, MPT
As a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch, Sayda uses her special training in Neuro-Developmental Treatment, vestibular rehabilitation, and aquatic techniques to treat patients with a variety of needs. She also feels driven to make recommendations for seating solutions and other assistive devices to help with patient mobility in the community. When not at Milestones, she enjoys watching her children in wrestling and basketball as well as reading and watching her favorite shows to decompress.
Lizette Cuellar
PTA
As a graduate of South Texas College, Lizette enjoys working with a variety of children. As a new member of the Milestones’ family, she is motivated to learn from her team-mates and expand her knowledge from continuing education opportunities. Her hobbies of reading and going to the gym as well as spending time with nieces and nephews occupy her time away from Milestones.
Xiomara Navarro
DPT
After waiting for several years to have her join Milestones’ team, Xiomara is here to offer her unique insight to treatment of children with neuromotor issues. As she completes her extensive training in neuro-developmental therapy, she offers insight into critical problem-solving ideas to foster independence in children with movement disorders. She focuses on patient-focused positive experience to during her treatment sessions.
