Two-Year-Old Girl

Diplegia Cerebral Palsy

Camila started therapy at Milestones around the age of 2 years old. Because of her diagnosis she had most difficulty using her legs, making standing balance and walking difficult. With consistent therapy twice a week and the help of her parents she learned to walk independently. Therapy focused on the mobility of her legs, strengthening her hips and core, balance activities, and functional play. She is now 10 years old and participates on the school cheer squad among other things. She has continued with therapy 1-2 times per week with the focus of mastering these and other skills along the way: walking up/down curbs and stairs, falling safely, standing up without using furniture, climbing playground equipment, running without falling or using her hands to stop, riding a bicycle, and learning to jump rope.
